Meet Morgan

I was born and raised in Central/East Texas, growing up in a small town where life felt familiar and grounded. It was the kind of place where neighbors knew each other, days moved a little slower, and so much of life revolved around home and family. Some of my earliest memories are tied to the table — meals shared, recipes passed down, and the quiet way food had a way of bringing everyone together.

That connection to food followed me into college, where I studied Hospitality Management, knowing early on that cooking would always be part of my life. While I felt most at home in the kitchen, after graduation I stepped into the corporate side of the restaurant world. I spent years traveling for a large casual dining brand, using my design background to help bring hundreds of restaurants to life — from wall décor to finishing touches you’ve probably walked past without a second thought. Along the way, I logged thousands of miles and had the chance to see nearly every corner of the U.S., plus parts of Europe and South America.

Today, food still sits at the center of my home and my story. My grandma’s kitchen was where our family gathered, and cooking alongside my mom shaped not only how I cook, but why I cook. That’s what I share here — the recipes I grew up with, the meals I make now, and ideas meant to inspire what’s next. My philosophy is simple: cook food you love, use recipes as a guide, and never be afraid to make them your own.

Meet Ginger and Tucker ♥️

The real stars of The Prosper Collective have always had four legs.

Ginger, our Dachshund, is the heart, mascot, and logo of the blog. She came into my life in 2011 during a difficult season, quickly becoming my constant companion and best friend. She’s a little greyer now, but still full of sass, cuddles, and opinions—especially in the kitchen.

Tucker, our Pitbull mix, came to us as a foster in 2016, scared, underweight, and covered in motor oil and fleas. What was meant to be temporary quickly became permanent, and Tucker became a gentle, steady presence in our home. He passed away in April 2025, but his imprint remains woven into this space and our lives. He was deeply loved, and always will be.

The Story Behind The Prosper Collective

The idea for The Prosper Collective first took shape in 2017, but it wasn’t until 2020, during COVID, that we tried to bring it to life. We dreamed of creating a food and lifestyle blog centered on simple, delicious recipes, home projects, and thoughtful living. We bought the domain, attempted to design a website…and quickly realized we were in over our heads. Without the skills, tools, or confidence, the project stalled before it truly began.

Instead of giving up, we chose to learn. I pursued certifications in graphic design and digital marketing, while Daniel tackled his MBA. Those years of learning brought us here—to a space built intentionally, with clarity, patience, and purpose. This blog is still growing, just like we are. Thank you for being here, learning alongside us, and sharing in the journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why “The Prosper Collective”?

The name reflects the heart of what we’re building—a place to collect ideas that help life feel fuller, easier, and more meaningful. Through simple, flavorful, health-ish recipes and thoughtful home inspiration, the goal is to help you prosper at home and in everyday life.

After all, we all want to prosper—so why not do it together?

What do you use to shoot your content?

I shoot everything—blog photos & Instagram and TikTok videos—with my iPhone, using natural light when possible.

Where do you shop for ingredients?

I buy from Walmart, Trader Joe’s, or online at Amazon. Let me know if you have questions about the products I use.

So what kinds of recipes will you find here?

A bit of everything. Most of the recipes I share here are the ones we’re actually making and eating at home. Baking is my happy place—cookies, breads, and lots of sourdough—but we also love cooking flavorful meals inspired by Mexican and Asian cuisines, appetizers, and party foods. Weeknights are often about quick, approachable dishes, but weekends are for slowing down in the kitchen. Most recipes lean toward fresh and approachable, but I also love comfort-food classics and indulgent favorites—because balance is everything. My hope is that you’ll find recipes here that fit real life, whatever that looks like for you. And if there’s ever a recipe you’re craving, I’d love to hear from you!

What is “Memories from the Kitchen”?

Memories from the Kitchen is a special series where I share the family recipes, stories, and traditions that shaped how I cook. Each post connects food with memory, especially recipes passed down by my mom, grandma, and other family members.

Have a recipe question or want to work together?

You learn a lot about someone when you share a meal together.
